SONGLINK IN NASHVILLE
SongLink editor/publisher David Stark flew into Nashville, TN on April 6th to catch up with music industry friends and subscribers. As well as providing regular tips about Nashville artists who are looking for songs, SongLink is used by many local songwriters and music publishers to pitch their catalogues outside of Music Row and around the world. Longtime subscribers include Dennis Morgan (Morgan Music Group), Barbara Orbison (Orbison Music Co.), Bob Dellaposta (My Three Kids Music), Billy Livsey (Livsey Music) and many others.
David's visit also coincided with a special event at the Country Music Hall of Fame to cement relations between Nashville and Scotland, at which John Carter-Cash (son of Johnny Cash & June Carter) received a special honour from Scottish government minister Fiona Hyslop. The event also featured performances by Nashville legends Cowboy Jack Clement, Rodney Crowell and Jim Lauderdale, along with Scottish singer/songwriter and violinist Laura McGhee and others. After the event, David moved on to Edgehill Studios Cafe to meet, among others, subscribers Lorna Flowers (Sunshine Music), Joyce Harrison (Luvu Luvu Music), songplugger Chris Keaton and renowned songwriter/artist Bill Lloyd, formerly of hit duo Foster & Lloyd, who performs his own show at the Country Hall of Fame on April 10th.
