MIEL LAUNCHES NATURE EP FOR WWF

London, November 2019: London-based songstress Miel de Botton is set to release her new EP 'I Was Given Nature' this month. The lead eponymous single has been chosen to represent a campaign by the WWF called Connect2earth. Miel's haunting and delicately beautiful vocals are featured on the Connect2earth video which tells a powerful message on how we need to urgently prioritise our planet's well-being. The lyrics provide the sound bed to a very important global initiative from the WWF.

VETERAN SONGWRITER TONY HILLER R.I.P.

London, August 2018: Veteran British songwriter and producer Tony Hiller passed away on August 26th after a long illness. One of the great characters of the music industry, he was best known for co-writing and producing songs for Brotherhood of Man such as Eurovision winner 'Save Your Kisses For Me' and 'United We Stand'. An integral member of the SODS (Society of Distinguished Songwriters) and known by all as 'Bubalah', he was also a huge influence and mentor to many others over the years.

PAUL CARRACK TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM 'THESE DAYS'

London, July 2018: Paul Carrack returns with a brand new studio album and is ready to reach new heights with 'These Days', released on 7th September on his own record label, Carrack-UK. In addition to the release of These Days, Paul will embark on an extensive 30-date UK tour for 2019, which begins on 18th January in Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall, ending on 24th March at The Lowry in Salford.

PEERMUSIC ACQUIRES ACCORDER MUSIC

London, July 2018: Global independent peermusic has acquired Accorder Music, one of the UK's biggest independent film and television publishers. Accorder is known for representing some of the finest independent film and TV production companies with an equally fine roster of composers who write for popular shows such as Great British Bake Off, River Monsters, Michael McIntyre's Big Show, Hunted, Endeavour, The Jesus Code, How We Got To Now, The Great American Read, Becca's Bunch and Teletubbies.

RECORD RESULTS AT PRS FOR MUSIC AGM

London, May 2018: At the annual PRS For Music AGM, held at the British Library on May 24th, CEO Robert Ashcroft said that the collection society's recent record results were a result of its ability "to keep pace with industry change", with online collections increasing by 52.7 percent to hit £122.9m. However he opened his speech with an explanation and apology for a series of overpayments made over the past 12 months, which will need to be repaid or recouped from the next round of distributions except for certain historical errors. "Our focus now is on making sure that we do not have a recurrence of either these, or any similar problems in the future and we have been working hard to understand both their root causes and potential solutions," said Ashcroft.

London, May 2018: peermusic has bought London-based independent music publisher, Paul Rodriguez Music, it was jointly announced by Nigel Elderton, President Europe & Managing Director, peermusic U.K. and Lucy Rodriguez-Laranjo, Paul Rodriguez Music (PRM) Director. Lucy Rodriguez-Laranjo, who took over the forty-three year old company in 2013, said of the sale: "We're delighted to have found the perfect new home for the PRM catalogue, and we are sure our writer, publisher and label clients will be well looked after at peermusic. We were keen to sell to an independent music publisher who shared our values of good client service, flexibility, and championing the independent music business, as well as understanding, appreciating and having the resources to further promote our diverse catalogue."

FEMALE FACTOR SCORES AT MPG AWARDS 2018

London, March 2018: Sisters were certainly doing it for themselves at this year's Music Producers Guild (MPG) Awards with five of the gongs going to women - proving beyond doubt that music production is no longer a male dominated business. Producer Catherine Marks carried off the top accolade of UK Producer Of The Year at the ceremony, which took place March 1st at London's Grosvenor House. Marks, who previously won the MPG's Breakthrough Producer Of The Year Award in 2016, was nominated this year for her work on The Amazons' self-titled album, Manchester Orchestra's album 'A Black Mile To The Surface' and The Big Moon's 'Love In The 4th Dimension'.

RANDY BACHMAN TO RELEASE GEORGE HARRISON TRIBUTE ALBUM

Toronto, February 2018: Canadian rock legend Randy Bachman has announced the release of "By George - By Bachman", a personal testimonial to George Harrison's finest work. Available March 2nd via Universal Music Canada, the album is heralded by the release of "Here Comes The Sun", available as the first instant 'grat track' along with the launch of the album's pre-order. Lead radio single "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is the album's second instant grat track and will follow February 16.
