London, August 2017: UK artist & writer/producer manager Mark Winters of Active Music Management passed away aged 68 on August 15th, having suffered prostate cancer in recent years. He was involved with the early career of Kevin Rowland (of Dexy's Midnight Runners & previously the Killjoys) as well as Bronski Beat, Taffy ("I Love My Radio"), Mash ("You Don't Have To Say You Love Me") and Maria Lawson who was launched via X Factor UK.

JETHRO TULL 50th ANNIVERSARY TOUR

Formed in early 968, Jethro Tull have released 30 studio and live albums, selling more than 60 million copies worldwide. During their 50-year history, the band has performed over 3,000 concerts in more than 50 countries, playing 100+ concerts each year. The debut album, This Was, was released later that same year. Founder, frontman and flautist Anderson is rightly credited with introducing the flute to rock as a front line instrument, not to mention the codpiece! Jethro Tull are one of the biggest selling prog-rock acts of all time and their immense and diverse catalogue of work encompasses folk, blues, classical and heavy rock.

ZAK ABEL SIGNS TO SONY/ATV MUSIC

London, July 2017: Sony/ATV Music Publishing has signed singer/songwriter and rising popstar Zak Abel to a worldwide deal. The agreement comes ahead of the release this autumn of Only When We're Naked, the debut Atlantic Records album by the British talent who initially rose to fame as the guest vocalist on Gorgon City's UK Top 20 hit "Unmissable".

1967 TEENAGE OPERA TO OPEN 50 YEARS ON

London, July 2017: Youth Music Theatre (YMT) have announced the world premiere of the legendary '60s concept work 'A Teenage Opera', the show that was never completed. After a 50 year wait, the original producer and composer Mark Wirtz has teamed up with vocalist Keith West of the band Tomorrow to complete the rock opera for its golden anniversary.

CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF SGT PEPPER

London, May 2017: It was 50 years ago on June 1st 1967 when The Beatles astonished and delighted the world, ushering in the Summer of Love with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, a groundbreaking masterwork that became popular music's most universally acclaimed album. To salute the occasion, The Beatles will release a suite of lavishly presented 'Sgt. Pepper' Anniversary Edition packages on May 26 (Apple Corps Ltd./Universal Music). The album is newly mixed by Giles Martin and Sam Okell in stereo and 5.1 surround audio and expanded with early takes from the studio sessions, including no fewer than 34 previously unreleased recordings.

The press launch at London's Ivy Club was hosted by Tom Robinson who announced the nominees for works released in the UK in 2016, including Best Song Musically and Lyrically, Best Contemporary Song, Album Award, Best Original Film Score and Best Television Soundtrack as well as the PRS for Music Most Performed Work.

LONDON, November 2016:Singer-songwriter Gabrielle Aplin has achieved much success in her short career, and has just signed a co-publishing deal with Peermusic via Youthemic. One of the first UK artists to break through social media, Aplin signed to Parlophone Records in 2012. From then until 2016 she released two albums with the label, with much critical and commercial success. Entering a new chapter in her career, she is releasing 'Miss You' on Never Fade Records, which has been co-written by Gabrielle and Liz Horsman (Youthemic) and produced by Mike Spencer (Youthemic).

JOHN OTWAY'S MISSION TO MONTSERRAT

LONDON, October 2016: For the first time in over 25 years, the small Caribbean island of Montserrat has played host to a rock recording session, with UK artist John Otway being the first artist to record a new album there since the Rolling Stones recorded 'Steel Wheels' in 1989. Otway arrived there recently along with a party of 50, including his band, producer Chris Birkett, film-makers, PR and a bunch of fans, to lay down tracks for his new album, 'A Postcard From Montserrat' which was crowd-funded on Kickstarter.
