Student bands will be performing in Cargo, Shoreditch (9, 10 & 11 May) and music industry experts and speakers will line-up in the famous Gibson Guitar Studio, Rathbone Street (9 & 10 May) to give the best advice to those breaking into the industry. The Apple Store Regent Street will also run hands on technical workshops from 5-7th May.
Highlights of the workshop programme include:
-
Critique sessions with SongLink's David Stark; Bedford/Regal Room host Tony Moore; legendary Squeeze songwriter Chris Difford and hit writer/producer Bill Padley.
-

Plus the famous City Showcase CD Dump with hints and tips on anything from production to artwork as our panel selects submitted CDs at random.
Hussein Boon, Programme Director of the BMus Commercial Music Performance course at the University of Westminster, said: "The music department of the University of Westminster is proud and very excited about the Finding The Future event and look forward to establishing it as a 'must see' in the industry calendar. Every year our students progress to key roles where they not only enter the music business - they are also leading and changing it. Finding The Future is the next logical step in demonstrating to the industry that there is a wealth of talent on their doorstep."
Also this year, City Showcase has teamed up with Gibson Guitars to give away great prizes each day of the workshop programme. To take part for a chance to win Gibson Goodie Bags (Gibson T-shirt, cap and artist CDs), tickets to the British Music Experience and passes to Disneyland Paris, sign up to be a fan of City Showcase at http://cityshowcase.fanbridge.com selecting 'Gibson'.
